  This series, My Story by Nikkei which offers a glimpse into famous/notable people’s lives is very intriguing/fascinating. This month’s highlight, Mr. Hiroshi Sugimoto has shared his talents with our organization in our past exhibitions, theatre production, and the remodeling of our indoor garden. His idea that “art is the singular dream (of an artist) that requires to be shared by others, that is the (art’s) purpose/job” is inspiring and also reconfirms the importance/responsibilities of the roles of organizations like ours.
  
  様々な分野の著名人の半生が垣間見れる日経新聞紙連載の「私の履歴書」はなかなか面白い。今月は我々、ジャパン・ソサエティーの展覧会の開催、舞台演出、屋内庭園の改装も手がけてくださった多才な杉本博司氏だ。同氏の「アートとは、一人のうちに見える夢を、多くの人にも見えるようにする仕事だと思う。」という考えにうなずくとともに、その夢を多くの人達に提供する場をつくる弊会の役割の重要性と責任感をあらためて感じる次第だ。
