外国人が働きづらい日本。原因は「貧しいアジア諸国の憧れの国、ニッポン」という大勘違い

耳が痛いけどこれが事実。海外に住んでるとよくわかる。私が住むインドネシアでも…。海外で働くなら韓国や中国の方が、という人が増えています。
今後増えるだろう、海外人材ビジネスに関わる人間ほど、ふんどしを締め直して欲しい。
しかしこの勘違い問題は根深いですよね。
以前外国人を多数日本に呼び寄せたい、という日本の経営者と話した際にも強く感じました。
「日本なんだから、東南アジアから来て働きたい人はたくさんいるだろう」という勘違い。
言葉では美辞麗句を並べても、節々で出ちゃうんですよね。
もはや優秀な人材は日本へは行きたがらない、という事実を認めましょう。
無碍に下手に出る必要はないが、「日本で働かせてやる」という気持ちは金輪際捨てるべし。
特に看護や介護など外国人労働力に頼らざるを得ない業界には強く伝えたい。「日本はもはや憧れの国ではない」という現実 - This is hard to swallow. The 1980’s and 90’s were amazing years of growth. After 2000, it was interesting to study the lost decade from America. In 2003, I wrote a paper for my Masters class on the Big 4 Accounting firm’s Japanese practice.
Instead of working in Japan, I ended up starting out with Deloitte in San Francisco after spending the summer helping BYU students participate in internships at Japanese companies. We had students in Nagoya, Matsumoto and Tokyo.
I would browse through current business news so that we would have interesting discussions with the students as we met several times before the summer was over. It was not easy to find upbeat news about the Japan economy back then.
I now work to help Japan companies and their owners do business in America. Depending on the location in the US, many areas close to bigger cities have a Japanese school where children can continue their Japanese learning without falling behind.アジアでは、日本は働きにくいけど、住みたいと思ってる人が多いことは、いまも感じる。
アニメ、自動車や電化製品などの目に見える技術、いまだに世界3位の経済国家、毎年スポーツや科学で世界的に活躍する人材やチーム、治安、平均的な教育レベルの高さ、これらは、東南アジアで仕事をしていると、やはり日本は恵まれていると感じる。
問題は、結構多くの日本人にある主に東南アジアへの勝手な優越感だと思う。根底に欧米への劣等感からの反発があるかもしれない。
